My year of reflection

In this golden moment I get to write, I take time to look back on this year and see where life has taken me.
I gather my notes to add to this blog
Long winter of snow and exchange travelers pass our door, trips of skiing and sledging in the mountain tops. Winter change to spring in a hurry making haste for that summer bloom. The mirrored haste in our vacation to see family, ten days was never enough specially with van repairs. We drove through Alps and the sleeping giants with castles on dragons backs. The summer was slow to welcome the warmth but once it arrive it was here to stay until September. There was family fun with swimming in our pool and beaches, picnic by the lakes and mountains. Entertainment became my game for my little two in the long summer hols. In between the writing of my first children short story with full illustrations. To be self-published, which also was in a rush to have that money for Lorenzo s stem cell treatment, only to be disappointed at the last minute to find the damage was too far done. Another trip to UK to sign my book, that didn't happen either for delay in the books being delivered. Delayed in UK for waiting on broken car to drive once again through the sleeping giants to break down just one hour away from home. Finally to be at home again to relax and enjoy family life and to decide I will try to get that second book published, one day!
My boys are learning Italian fast, their second year at scuola and the thoughts are now on that Christmas play. We are stocking up the sweety jar and active with the advent calender as we await for the coming Yule. Have a good one to all!!!
Crisp cool air gathers around us as the winter closes in. Reflect those thoughts, as the moon reflects the sun, waters reflect the skies. Winter Reflecting the shadows in your dream.

SPIDER!

There! In the mirror
I saw climbing up my sweater towards my neck.
Was the biggest spider I ever met!.
I wasn't scared, Nooooo!
I didn't scream
I just hold my breath and hoped it was a dream
Closer and closer to my neck it came
The expression on my face you wouldn't blame

With a jump and a shiver
It didn't deliver
those creepy feet upon my face
off you go to your own blooming race
it landed on the floor as I ran out the door

He climbed out the window to the ground below
It's only a spider, just a friendly little fellow
He did me no harm, so much bigger am I
I leant out the window to wave him goodbye
To the garden he goes
what direction who knows?
To weave his house of silken thread
Goodbye little spider and that's enough said

Misty Valley

Preview of Misty Valley a magical short story book for children

No moon shone on this particular evening it was the darkest night

Not a soul in the village stirred with out fright

The crying and howling came across the land

once it was dark and misty.

But warm snug tucked in his bed was a little boy called Christy

The morning arrived with golden rays across the sky

The cockerel crowed as the sun rose high

A welcome end of a sleepless night

a jump out of bed with relief and delight

There was worry of the harvest not being done

Collecting fruit nuts and berries was always such fun

Going to the woods was too much for some

With the crying and howling all night

It just couldn't be done

But Christy was brave and thought he could

No! off the school says mum and put on his hood

With a skip and a run he went on his way

Not always fun at school with no one to play

The kids laughed because he was so small

H didn't like it, no not at all

I'll show them he said as he went on a head

To the woods without a care

A job to be done that no one else would dare

In the canopy of trees

he felt at ease

Abundant load he had collected

This harvesting he just perfected

His hood was full to the brim

But then he felt some body watching him

Creepy and scared!

He crept quietly as he dared

But who was this in the shadow?

Winter Moon

Imagination with Inspiration
The mothers' hand of creation
Forever holding
The eternal enfolding
A waken with the goddess breath
Never ending at the death
Sleep to passing memories
Begin a new melody
Fresh new birth
Blossom flower to burst
The gentleness has awoke
But not yet spoke
New Year of hope

As the year wanes the fading light moves us inward, towards our inner self, time of death and renew. To hibernate to reflect, stop listen, and draw on the pass with understanding and knowledge. Time to forgive and let go. Moving us forward to the coming new season with release. Refreshed from our winters sleep. This is the time to curl up with that good book and escape. Warm fires, meditation and soft music.
Now working on my new book Sweet seasons.
